450 EUR million loan - First-time ever loan to Candidate Country for health and education

Luxembourg, 07/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - At the end of December, the European Investment Bank granted loans amounting to a total of EUR 405 million to Poland. This sum is equal to around EUR 4.7 billion lent to the country since 1990 and is more than that lent to any other candidate country seeking accession to the EU. These loans can be broken down as follows:
