French VU - VIVENDI UNIVERSAL has bought up the cinema and television business of USA NETWORKS for the sum of around $10.5 billion. With this move, VU will control 93% of a new entity called VIVENDI UNIVERSAL ENTERTAINMENT, to be formed of its subsidiary UNIVERSAL STUDIOS and the leisure activities of the group in the United States.
