18/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - On 21 December the European Commission will be launching a new weekly air service between Nairobi and Goma (the Democratic Republic of Congo, near the border with Rwanda, home to a huge number of displaced persons). A Commission press release explains that for many years now the ECHO flights from Nairobi have made it possible for aid to reach areas inaccessible in any other way, like the Horn of Africa and Southern Sudan.
