The Dutch consumer giant UNILEVER has sold its commercial cleaning business DIVERSEYLEVER (EUR 1.65 bn turnover in 2000-01 and a workforce of 11,000) to JOHNSON WAX PROFESSIONAL, a division of the US company SC JOHNSON for an estimated $1.6 bn. With a current workforce of 3,800, JOHNSON WAX PROFESSIONAL will thereby increase its size 2.3 fold and have an annual turnover of EUR 2.9 billion.
