Despite becoming more entrepreneurial, EU loses out to United States in productivity growth

Brussels, 23/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - Despite improving performance, the standard of living in the EU has fallen persistently behind that of the United States and Europe's presence in the field of biotechnology is limited in comparison to the US. This the main conclusion of the Competitiveness Report 2001 published on Thursday by the European Commission.
