23/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Dutch Ministry of the Interior and the Council of Europe are organising on 30 November and 1 December in Noordwijkerhout (Netherlands) a conference on the implementation of the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages. The Charter, which took effect in March 1998, is the only international legal instrument whose main aim is to protect languages. (For a programme, see http: //local.coe.int).
