Solana meets Zaher Shah Sunday in Rome

Brussels, 19/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - Javier Solan, EU High Representative for common foreign and security policy, will be on an official visit to Italy on 21 and 22 October. While there, he will meet the President of the Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, and Defence Minister Antonio Martino. Furthermore, in the context of the effort being made to reach a peace plan for Afghanistan, Mr Solana will hold a meeting with the former King of Afghanistan, Zaher Shal, on Sunday evening.
