GUE/NGL round table on reopening of Mont Blanc Tunnel and protecting the environment in the Alps

Brussels, 19/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The United Left/Nordic Green Left group (GUE/NGL) is organising a round table in Strasbourg on 24 October against the backdrop of the European Parliament's plenary session on the reopening of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, over two and a half years after the disaster that cost 39 lives. The meeting will discuss "global, realistic and long-term" solutions to stop the Alps getting clogged up with ever greater volumes of traffic. The round table will be chaired by...
