Luxembourg, 12/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The protection of the large sea turtles Caretta Caretta, on the Greek island of Zakynthos lies at the heart of a case that the European Commission has lodged against Greece. For the first time, the Commission is accusing a Member State of endangering the very existence of a species of animal. A serious accusation that it has never so far levelled.
