ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banking

France's mutual health insurance company GROUPAMA and SOCGEN - SOCIETE GENERALE will be launching a joint banking venture at the beginning of 2003, in which the insurance company will hold a 60% and SOCGEN 40%. The as yet unnamed joint venture will have EUR 100 million of independent assets and its branches will sell SOCIETE GENERALE's products. In return, SOCGEN will sell GROUPAMA's health insurance packages.
