ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) building materials

France's SAINT-GOBAIN has bought up Germany's leading tile distributor KERAMUNDO (EUR 240 million turnover in 2000, workforce of 800), for an undisclosed amount. SAINT-GOBAIN's "construction distribution" division had a turnover of EUR 9.7 bil in 2000 for a workforce of more than 43,000 people.
