07/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EU Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs is to choose a new chairman. Its current chairman, Mario Monti, has announced his intention to leave his post of Director General for the Treasury in Italy and, hence, his international responsibilities. Mr Draghi pointed out in an interview with Friday's Corriere della Sera that he will be carrying out a period of research, probably at Harvard University.
