Reynders stresses the country's "firm" monetary policy

Brussels, 23/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - "It is important to note the firmness of Latvia's monetary policy, and its determination to go on to the euro later", said Belgian Finance Minister Didier Reynders, after a visit to Riga. "In response to the monetary policy logic, this country must, however, show determination to carry out a coherent budgetary policy and must insist on the flexibility of its market", added Mr Reynders.
