ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) specialised credits

GE CAPITAL, financial wing of GE - GENERAL ELECTRIC, has taken over HELLER FINANCIAL, held to the tune of 52% by the Japanese group FUJI BANK, for $5.3 bn in cash, or $53.75 a share. In 31 December 2000, the assets of HELLER FINANCIAL represented some $20 bn against $370 bn for GE CAPITAL.
