Brussels, 19/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) is organising on 18 and 19 October 2001 in Maastricht (Netherlands) a seminar on the theme "Understanding the European Union's decision-making process: principles, procedures and practice". The seminar, to be held in English with simultaneous translation in French, is addressed to all those who wish to acquire a better understanding of the European institutions, their evolution and the way Community policies are managed at the present time. In addition to the traditional analytical presentations, the seminar will present case studies and exercises of simulation. These sessions mainly foresee the simulation of a meeting of a Council working group and case studies illustrate the functioning of co-decision procedure and the way the EU reacted to the crisis in Macedonia, respectively.
