In the United States, SANMINA and SCI will be merging to create an electronics subcontracting giant. SANMINA will pay USD 4.5 billion for shares in SCI SYSTEMS and take over a debt of 1.5 billion. SANMINA is offering 1.36 dollars a share in this friendly bid. The new entity, whose name has not yet been decided, will have annual turnover of around USD 14 billion, ranking second or third globally.
