Germany's EON has signed an agreement with BP. EON will be selling to the UK group 51% of its subsidiary VEBA OEL, which owns the ARAL service station network. In exchange, it will recover 51% of GELSENBERG, owner of a 25% share in Germany's number-one gas group, RUHRGAS. EON and BP have also agreed on options enabling them to sell minority shares in their former subsidiaries. The operation concerns a total of EUR 9 billion.
