18/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - As EUROPE announced on 16 and 17 July, p.8, the European Commission agreed on Wednesday to contribute 120 million euro to the World Health Fund, founded by the UN last April. Commission President Romano Prodi is to announce this contribution on Friday at the G8 Summit in Genoa. This Fund is devoted to combating AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in the poorest countries.
