The oil group BP sold its chemical activities from BURMAH CASTROL to the European investment fund CINVEN for GBP 204 million. The transaction, which should be finished during the third quarter 2001, concerns four entities: FOSECO (products aimed at the steel industry), FOSBEL (foundry operator services), CHEM-TREND (foundry moulds) and finally REMET (products for foundries). Two other companies remain for sale: FOSROC and SERICOL PRINTING.
