12/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - The MEP member of the CDU Klaus-Heiner Lehne, EP rapporteur on the Takeover Directive, welcomes in principle the intention of Commissioner Bolkestein to make a new proposal on the subject, following the EP's rejection of the current position (see EUROPE of 5 July, p.7 and 12 July p,9). But he warns: the new proposal must "not have an essentially similar content" to the one just rejected.
