British oil group BP has announced the acquisition of the Spanish factory of American LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES in Tres Cantos (Madrid). BP plans to invest a total of 20 billion pesetas in this plant, comprising its acquisition and its transformation into a solar panel production unit.
