The British spirits group ALLIED DOMECQ has made a bid for all of the New Zealand wines producer, MONTANA, which has also received bids from Australian brewery LION NATHAN. ALLIED DOMECQ already holds 26.8% of MONTANA, while LION NATHAN has 43%. The British firm is proposing NZ $4.80 per share, giving the group a value of EUR 470 million.
