ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) companies

- Belgium: According to a study by the consultant DUN & BRADSTREET, of all the foreign companies in Belgium, Dutch companies are the most numerous. Followed in order by French, American and German companies. In total, 6,511 foreign companies have a subsidiary in this country of which a little less than a quarter are Dutch (1,711 companies), 1,150 are French and 841 have an American parent company. German (687) and British (675) companies complete the top 5. Flanders attracts the most of these companies: 3,566 of them are located in the north of the country against 2,098 in the Brussels-Capital region and 847 in Wallonia. Dutch entrepreneurs have a clear preference for Flanders with 1,310 Dutch companies located there (against 335 in Brussels and 66 in Wallonia). Moreover, wholesale trade, services and manufacturing seem to be the sectors in which the largest number of foreign companies are active in Belgium.
