Commission authorises Electronic Data Systems to take control of Systematic

Brussels, 15/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission gave the go ahead to the takeover of the German computer services company Systematics AG by the American company Electronic Data Systems (EDS). The latter is active in the same sector, but also offers, through the intermediary of its subsidiary A.T. Kearney, consultancy services in terms of strategic management. The activities of the parties only overlap in the market for computer management and in that for the consultancy/development and integration. The greatest combined market share is present in the United Kingdom, in the sector for IT management, and in Germany in terms of consultancy/development and integration, but they are relatively limited. Moreover, a strong overlap in these sectors, which are experiencing a rapid growth, continues to exist following the operation.
