Approval to purchase of Elf Antargaz by PAI and UGI

Brussels, 22/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised Paribas Affaires Industrielles (PAI), the BNP Paribas (France) subsidiary, and the US company UGI to acquire Elf Antargaz, as it considers the operation does not raise any competition problems. The transaction is the result of a commitment made in connection with the TotalFina/Elf merger that Elf's LPG businesses would be sold to in order to resolve competition problems on the market for the sale of liquid...
