Stockholm, 23/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - European Council President Goran Persson, European Commission President Romano Prodi and the President of the European Parliament, Nicole Fontaine will be in Nice on Monday 26 February for the signing of the Nice Treaty. As we mentioned, the President of the French Republic, Jacques Chirac and French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin will be present at the signing ceremony, whereas the Treaty will be signed by its negotiators, the foreign ministers of the Member States of the EU. The signing will take place at 19.30 hrs. at the Palais Sarde (Prefecture). The foreign ministers will arrive in Nice from Brussels, after a somewhat shortened General Affairs Council.
At the ceremony, Jacques Chirac, Lionel Jospin, Goran Persson, Romano Prodi and Nicole Fontaine will make speeches.
