ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) luxury goods

The Italian luxury goods market GUCCI has taken over control of the rival leather-goods maker BOTTEGA VENETA (turnover EUR 50 million in 2000). Under the terms of a "final" agreement, GUCCI will acquire 66.67% of the capital of BOTTEGA for nearly EUR 170 million.
