Belgrade, 08/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - An ad hoc delegation of the European Parliament headed by German Christian Democrat Doris Pack, Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with South East Europe, is on visit to Belgrade from 8 to 10 February. The MEPs - in addition to Ms Pack, Chair of the Budgets Committee Terence Wynn, Jan Joost Lagendijk, Hannes Swoboda, Bertel Haarder and Carlos Costas Neves - will meet President Kostunica, the new Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, representatives of the local authorities, the media, the European Agency for Reconstruction and the World Bank.
A press release states that the MEPs plan to acquire first-hand information on the use of funds for currently running EU assistance programmes and to be able to evaluate future needs in the medium term.
