ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The Belgian insurance banking group KBC has gained a larger stake in the share capital of the Hungarian bank K&H - KERESKEDEMI ES HITELBANK, of which it already held 73%, by acquiring the shares held by IRISH LIFE (17.9%) and the Portuguese group BANCO ESPIRITO SANTO (7.33%). With this move, the value of which was not revealed, KBC will hold 98.5% of the bank's shares.
