French CREDIT AGRICOLE has acquired 75% of the capital of the largest Polish consumer credit firm LUKAS SA for the sum of EUR 282.4 million. LUKAS SA claims 25% of the Polish consumer credit market. With a network of over 100 agencies throughout the country, its balance sheet total amounted to EUR 550 million end 2000.
