In Italy, the banking group SANPAOLO IMI has acquired a 15% stake in the regional bank CASSA DEI RISPARMI DI FORLI from the banking federation that controls the capital of the banking establishment. For this move, it joined forces with CASSA DI RISPARMIO DI FIRENZE, which acquired 5% for the sum of EUR 136 million. After this operation, the banking foundation will still hold 51.35% of the capital while the remaining 28.65% will continue to be held by individual shareholders.
