04/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European employers organisation, UNICE, launched a "pressing call for Community energy policy to remain firmly centred on the aims of competitiveness". According to UNICE "companies fear that the positive fall-out (from the liberalisation of the electricity market) is swept away by new taxation" on energy products.
