ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

In Italy, the BPCI - BANCA POPOLARE COMMERCIO E INDUSTRIA (stock market value of around ITL 3,000 million with 300,000 clients) acquired, for ITL 2,306 billion, 75% of the capital in the CARIME bank from the INTESA group. The agreement foresees the complete acquisition of the bank, increasing the operation of a total of ITL 3,075 billion.
