20/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - "Metamorphosis of Europe - Thirty Iconographic Centuries", by Christian de Bartillat and Alain Roba, has just been published by Bartillat - Fondation pour une civilisation européenne (Internet site http://www.metamorphose-europe.com ). There are at least five thousand representations of Europe in the world, "from craters and mosaics to Matisse and Picasso, passing by Titien and Rembrandt", recalls the author and publisher. This magnificent book enables us to get a glimpse of the iconographic wealth, as well as to re-read the Kidnap of Europe, from the Idyll of Moschos, Greek poet born in Syracuse in the 2nd century BC, to the Chemin de sagesse by Jacques Atali, passing by W.B. Yeats, Ferando Pessoa, Thomas Mann, Albert Camus and Salman Rushdie, and many others.
