Brussels, 27/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved five programming documents for 2000-2006 organising European aid in favour of French regions under Objective 1 of EU regional policy (regions lagging behind in development). It approved the "Single Programming Documents" for:
- Guyana, which will receive EUR 370 million in aid from Structural Funds, allowing the mobilisation of nearly EUR 725 million in investment in the region, according to the European Commission.
- Martinique, which will receive EUR 674 million from the EU, allowing EUR 1.6 billion in investment.
- Guadeloupe, which will receive European aid of EUR 808.5 million, allowing almost EUR 2 billion to be made available.
- Nord-Pas-de-Calais, which will receive EUR 389 million in European aid, allowing EUR 1.2 billion in investment.
- Corsica, to which EUR 181 million in Community aid is allocated, allowing EUR 365.6 million in investment.
