Echo grants 11 million euro to for persons displaced by conflicts in Afghanistan and Africa

Brussels, 26/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted a total of 11 million euro to help the victims of the incessant conflicts in Afghanistan and three countries in Africa: Somalia, Angola and Sierra Leone. Taken from the Echo budget (Community's Humanitarian Aid Office), these funds represent the Commission's annual contribution to food and food security programmes implemented by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
