The Agri-chemical CARGILL will sell CARGO HYBRID SEEDS (annual turnover of around USD 100 million with a workforce of 432 people), its activities in hybrid seeds to a subsidiary DOW CHEMICAL (turnover of USD 2.3 million in 1999) for an undisclosed amount. Originally, AGREVO was to acquire these activities, for USD 650 million (see EI of 10 February 1999).
