Brussels, 30/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - In the framework of events scheduled by the French Presidency of the EU Council, local players in the social Europe (elected local representatives, NGOs of the social sector, leading professionals of the sector) are organising the first European seminar on local social action under the patronage of President Jacques Chirac, President Prodi and the Commission for Employment Ms. Diamantopoulou. Entitled "Building the Social Europe", the seminar will be held in Lille from 27 to 30 September. Report on about thirty practical examples will illustrate the efforts of their respective networks to promote the construction of a social Europe.
