Veterinary Committee approves embargo on movements of live pigs from three regions of England

Brussels, 22/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - After hearing a detailed presentation on measures taken by the British authorities to combat swine fever since its discovery in five companies in England, the EU's Standing Veterinary Committee decided, by unanimity, to approve measures banning the movements of live animals and pig sperm.
