14/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Agriculture Ministers from France, Jean Glavany, Spain, Miguel Arias Canete, and Italy, Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, are organising on Monday, in Brussels, a colloquy entitled "Fruit and vegetables in Europe". In addition to ministers, Commissioner Franz Fischler and the Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Agriculture, Friedrich Graefe zu Baringdorf, the representatives of professional organisation, consumers' associations and research institutes will take part in five round tables on: (1) employment in the fruit and vegetable sectors; (2) taking this sector into account in Common Agricultural Policy; (3) the market, (4) the positive effects of the consumption of fruit and vegetables on human health, and (5) pleasure and taste.
