Portuguese group CGD - CAIXA GERAL DE DEPOSITOS and the third largest Brazilian bank UNIBANCO - UNIÃO DE BANCOS BRASILEIROS have announced a strategic alliance whereby the Portuguese group will acquire a 10% stake in the capital of its Brazilian counterpart. UNIBANCO, on the other hand, will acquire the Brazilian assets of the Portuguese bank.
