British Airways and KLM inform Monti of their planned merger

Brussels, 04/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The airline companies KLM (the Netherlands) and British Airways (United Kingdom) have presented their planned alliance to the European Commissioner for competition, Mario Monti. Formal notification will come in the next few weeks. KLM's spokesperson said that the intention was to conclude negotiations between the two companies by the end of July, so as to reach an agreement in August.
