Brussels, 23/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament's intergroup "initiative for peace" is organising on 29 June, at the EP in Brussels, a conference on the theme of "Peace and decentralised co-operation in Palestine: Towards a network of local collectives for Palestine" so as to strengthen decentralised co-operation, i.e. the links between civil society and exchanges between peoples and cultures, indicated a press release. Furthermore, the members of the European Parliament (and in particular the members of the Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council) will take part in the conference of representatives from other European institutions, of local collectives and NGOs. The intergroup's Bureau includes Mrs. Morgantini (United left, Italy) McKenna (Green, Ireland), Sauquillo Perez del Arco (Scholiast, Spain), Ludford (Liberal Democrat, British) and Mr. Van Heck (EPP, Belgium).
