Council intends to strengthen certain measures against Serbia, calls for guaranteed security for the Serb minority in Kosovo, notes that Croatia meets conditions for negotiating an association agreement and supports cooperation process in Adriatic region

Brussels, 15/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - At the conclusion of its assessment of the situation in the Western Balkans, the General Affairs Council adopted the following conclusions (for trade measures being considered, see EUROPE of 8 June, pp. 7-8).

"The Council expressed its deep concern at the continuing deterioration of the political situation in Serbia and reiterated its condemnation of the escalating repression by the Belgrade regime against the democratic opposition and independent...
