The Hague, 04/05/2000 (Agence Europe) The Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs published a press release, following the European Commission's decision to no longer maintain Carlo Trojan in the post of Secretary General. This is the first time that a government takes such a position on the nomination of high civil servants within the Commission. The press release indicates that the Dutch government is unpleasantly surprised by the Commission's sudden decision and it greatly regrets this...
