04/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Italian association of insurance companies, Ania, has lodged a complaint with the European Commission against the government's decision to freeze car insurance rates. Ania considers such a measure incompatible with Community regulations and several Court of Justice decisions. The government took the initiative as part of a package of measures to fight inflation.
