ALCATEL (France) has concluded a strategic agreement with Japan's FUJITSU in infrastructures for the third-generation mobile telephones using UMTS standards. Under the agreement, the two groups will create a joint venture owned 66% by ALACTEL and 34% by FUJITSU, which will have 2,000 engineers.
