29/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - An exhibition on Auschwitz, from impressions expressed by young people following a visit to the concentration camp was inaugurated on the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday, where it can be seen until 31 March. Entitled "Afterwards, it's just part of you…", this exhibition has been put on by the International Auschwitz Committee. At a press conference, German Social-Democrat Magdalene Hoff, provided her support for the operation, especially intended to keep the memory of the holocaust alive in the younger generation. She recalled that, when voting on the Ludford Report on racism in the EU, Parliament had proposed introducing a "Memorial Day" on 27 January, anniversary day of the camp's liberation in 1945, and an International Day Against Fascism and Anti-Semitism", on 9 November, in memory of "Cristalnacht".
