29/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - Referring to our account of the session of the Joint APC-EU Assembly one of our careful readers has pointed out to us that Mr. Corrie was already a member of the joint Assembly between 1975 and 1979, before the first European Parliament legislature to be directly elected by universal suffrage. The present co-President of the Assembly was elected MEP in June 1994 and has continued to participate in the work of the joint Assembly since the October 1994 session in Libreville (Gabon). Furthermore, 48 MEPs took part in the work of the session last week in Abuja, or roughly fifty instead of forty-odd, as we indicated in the Bulletin of Friday 24 March on page 11. Let us also note that 13 of them where replacing the official members of the delegation that is normally made up of 71 MEPs.
