GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/state aid

17/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - Germany presented a new proposal to the European Commission over its recuperating its share of State aid totalling some EUR 808 million given to WestLB, which was judged illegal by the Commission (see EUROPE of 9 July 1999, p.8). The Commission will quickly examine if the new methods envisaged in Berlin correspond with its decision.
